So you eagerly unwrapped your brand new wireless networking card for your Sharp Zaurus PDA, your anxious hands
fumble as you put the card in the slot, you're ready to surf and IM and email while you sit in the back yard enjoying
the summer sun. You start surfing with Opera, so far so good, you do some Instant Messaging with
tkcJabber, which is a delight beyond
description :). Now you do a bit of interactive drawing with your co-workers on the other side of the
globe with tkcWhiteboard, and then you go to
check your email and suddenly the smile falls from your face... no SMTP authentication, no SSL,
and a variety of other missing and critical features. This is where tkcMail comes in as the most complete and
comprehensive email application on the Zaurus (and on a lot of desktops for that matter).
Now available for the Archos PMA400 as well!
 Features
tkcMail has the following features:
- Supports SMTP, POP3 (with SSL).
- Uses the Zaurus addressbook.
- Split view (message list / message display) or separate windows.
- Messages may be stored in RAM, on a Compact Flash (CF) card or on a Secure Digital (SD) card.
- SMTP authentication types supported: cleartext, PLAIN, LOGIN and CRAM-MD5.
- Limiting message downloads. Currently total download size can be limited. More options will be added in the future.
- Automatic quoting of original text when replying.
- Optional 'smart' message display formats message text for easier viewing on the small display.
- Configurable fonts for message list and message display.
- Configurable colors for quoted text.
- Identity and Send Profile support so you can have multiple inbound and outbound configurations depending on your location.
